Indication:
- For weight management in adults with obesity or overweight, in conjunction with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Administration Timing
- Can be taken at any time of the day, independent of meals
- May be taken before or after meals
- A consistent daily dosing time is recommended
Dosage and Administration:
- Initiate at 0.8 mg once daily for 30 days. This phase allows for drug adaptation; mild gastrointestinal discomfort may occasionally occur, with typically no change in body weight.
- After 30 days at 0.8 mg/day, increase the dose to 2.5 mg/day. Weight loss begins; gastrointestinal symptoms are generally mild and improve.
- After 30 days at 2.5 mg/day, increase the dose to 5.5 mg/day. Efficacy and adverse reactions are similar to the previous stage.
- Thereafter, increase the dose every 30 days based on tolerability and efficacy, up to a maximum of 17.2 mg/day. Reaching the maximum dose is not required.
Month 1: 0.8mg
This phase allows the body to adapt to the drug, with typically no change in body weight. Some users may experience mild gastrointestinal symptoms, which generally improve as the body adapts.
Month 2: 2.5mg
Weight loss begins; gastrointestinal symptoms are generally mild and improve.
Month 3: 5.5mg
Shows similar efficacy and tolerability to the previous stage.
Month 4: 9mg
There is no need to rush dose escalation. Individualized titration is recommended based on efficacy and tolerability.
Month 5: 14.5mg
Suitable for individuals who have achieved good tolerability and desire enhanced weight loss efficacy.
Month 6: 17.5mg
Designed for individuals who have completed dose escalation and achieved stable efficacy.
Adverse Reactions:
- The most common adverse reactions are gastrointestinal, including nausea, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, and bloating.
- Most reactions are mild to moderate and tend to diminish over time with continued use.
- These gastrointestinal effects are common to GLP-1 receptor agonists.
- Most mainstream weight-loss medications fall into this class; such reactions are generally unavoidable but vary in severity.
