LuciNfig, also known as Infigratinib developed by Lucius Pharmaceuticals, is a breakthrough medication that helps people with specific genetic conditions affecting bone growth and certain rare cancers. The active ingredient, infigratinib, is a targeted therapy available in 100 mg and 25 mg capsules.

LuciNfig blocks a group of proteins called FGFRs (Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptors)—specifically FGFR1, FGFR2, and FGFR3. These proteins normally help control how our cells grow and develop. But when FGFRs become overactive due to a genetic mutation, they can lead to abnormal bone growth or cancer.

One of the most exciting uses of LuciNfig is in treating genetic bone growth conditions such as achondroplasia and hypochondroplasia. These conditions cause bones—especially in the arms and legs—to grow more slowly, leading to short stature and other physical challenges.

In children with these conditions, a mutation in the FGFR3 gene causes it to stay “switched on,” preventing normal bone growth. LuciNfig gently reduces this overactivity, allowing the body to return to a more natural growth pattern.

  • Daily capsule, taken on an empty stomach
  • Low dosage (approx. 0.25 mg per kg of body weight)
  • No injections or painful procedures

In clinical studies, children taking LuciNfig experienced better height gains and more balanced body proportions, often with improved mobility and confidence in daily life. Most children tolerated the treatment well, with few side effects.

LuciNfig was initially developed for treating cholangiocarcinoma, a rare type of bile duct cancer with FGFR mutations. In this setting, the medication is used at higher doses to block cancer cells from multiplying. By targeting only cells with abnormal FGFR signaling, LuciNfig offers a more focused alternative to traditional chemotherapy.

Even though LuciNfig’s earlier form (Truseltiq) was discontinued due to business strategy changes, Lucius Pharmaceuticals has continued developing it to serve both cancer and genetic disorder patients in need.

What sets LuciNfig apart is how specifically and gently it works:

  • Targets only the faulty signaling
  • Preserves healthy cells and normal body function
  • Works for both children and adults

Whether used for rare cancers or for supporting healthy growth in children, LuciNfig reflects a new kind of medicine—one that listens to the body and supports its natural balance.
